What this site stores

This website is deliberately light on storage. Everything it keeps sits in your own browser, and the table below is the complete list at the time of writing.

vl.quota.v1Strictly necessaryDisplays how many free checks remain. The limit itself is enforced on the serverRolling 24 hours
vl.announce.v1Strictly necessaryKeeps the announcement bar dismissed once you dismiss it[PERIOD]
vl.locale.v1Strictly necessaryRemembers which language you are reading, so a link from an email opens in it[PERIOD]

[MARKETING COOKIES]MarketingMeasuring which campaign brought you here[PERIOD]

Server-side quota enforcement

The 5 free checks are counted on the server, which means a hashed identifier derived from your network and browser is stored for the length of the rolling window. This is not a marketing mechanism and cannot be switched off without removing the free checker: it is what stops the endpoint being used to enumerate mailboxes. It is described in the privacy policy.

Changing your choice

Analytics and marketing storage are used only if you accept them. Nothing in those categories is pre-enabled, and withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it:.
